MOT Max: The SMTA's MOT Quality Management System
MOT Max facilitates the recording of two categories of Quality Control or Quality Management information to support compliance with MOT Scheme requirements.
* The 1st category is directly applicable to the Vehicle Test Station; this is referred to as the Vehicle Test Station Menu
* The 2nd category is applicable to MOT Testers and other Vehicle Test Station personnel; this is referred to as the Personal Menu.
MOT Max is best used in conjunction with participation in the SMTA's MOT Quality Management programme, but can be used independently.

CATEGORY 1: VEHICLE TEST STATION MENU
1. MOT Tester Quality Control Checks (QC Checks) Sample
Provides an easy to complete series of checks to enable periodic Quality Control Assessments of MOT Testers. The structured series of checks embrace the essential processes and procedures that MOT Testers perform when carrying out an MOT test. The test results can be logged using YES or NO tick boxes; but additional comments can be added if required.
2. Test Equipment Calibration Records (and reminders) Sample
Provides the facility to enter equipment type, make, model and serial number along with the required calibration date (which is often automatically calculated). Email reminders are then sent to the chosen member of staff 1-month and 2- weeks before calibration expiry.
3. In-House Inspection Reports Sample
Provides a guided series of checks that can be performed at any time to help Vehicle Test Stations comply with DVSA requirements.
4. View SMTA QMS Assessment Reports
For Vehicle Testing Stations making use of the SMTA MOT Quality Management programme, SMTA reports can be filed, viewed and printed to provide evidence of independent Quality Assessments being carried out.

1. CPD / Training (Personal Records) Sample
Enables MOT Testers and other applicable personnel to record Training and Learning activities (including dates, course titles, training or content providers etc.)

Enables MOT Testers or other personnel to view their own personal records relating to the Quality Control Checks that have been carried out at the Vehicle Test Station.
